Local summer weightlifting meet

Many of our weightlifters are old pros at competition. There's a local meet coming up this summer that I'd like to encourage people to sign up for. It's not USAW sanctioned (no singlet required!), but it's a great opportunity for a first meet, or, for a more experienced competitor, a practice meet to test out maxes. CrossFit Roots will be hosting the 2015 Roots Summer Weightlifting Meet on August 8. Mike and I have lifted or coached at several of their meets, and they are very friendly and welcoming to lifters of all levels of experience. It's a nice chance to meet local weightlifters in a supportive and lower pressure setting, and they always have a very well-organized event. Here are some details about the meet from Ryan at Roots:
The Summer meet will have two divisions for men and women each: a set order flight and a re-ordered flight. Also, we will use kilograms rather than pounds. We will also have food from Fate Brewing. 
A set flight is like we usually do. The set flight does not change the order of lifters during the competition. This is beneficial to new competitors as it is less stressful since you don't have to worry about when you will lift.  
The reordered flight will proceed like a sanctioned USAW meet where the bar will only get heavier during the competition. The purpose of this process is to help the lifter and coach gain valuable experience of counting attempts and lifting in a competition weightlifting environment. If your goal is to compete in  USAW sanctioned meet, this is a great option for you! 
This meet will not be USAW sanctioned, so neither a singlet nor a USAW membership is required. We will compete in Kgs with a minimum of 1 Kg weight increase. We will use the Sinclair Coefficient to score the flights. All other USAW rules will apply.
