Moving well outside the gym

Mark working on deadlifts. We miss you at the noon class, come visit us soon!
We work hard in the gym to move properly and with good form. But how are you doing in your everyday life? Are you hunching over your computer at work? Are you falling forward and slapping your feet on the ground when you walk? Are you forgetting to keep shoulders over hips over ankles when you stand up? Are you letting your toes point out when you walk?

Take what you learn in the gym and use it to make you more aware of your movements outside of the gym. As you build strength, move with confidence, care, and precision instead of stumbling and slouching. Getting fit and healthy only starts in the gym; to get the best results, you need to always be aware of your body and how it's working.

Remember, now that we are growing and our classes are getting bigger (yay!) we need to start being more strict with our schedule. Starting in February (next week), our S&C class time will only be for S&C class and our Weightlifting Club practice time will only be for club practice.  We will expand our Individualized Programming hours (check the schedule) so there are more options for those of you who are working on specialized programming. All members are welcome to join the S&C class, but you'll need to be doing the class activities now because it's too crowded to have people working on their own things. We can make special one-time exceptions if you need them, but be sure to ask the class instructor first! Thanks for your cooperation with this policy.
