Barbell Strategy is dedicated to the sport of weightlifting


Not only are we Boulder's only full-time, fully-staffed Olympic weightlifting facility, we also are dedicated to teaching the next generation of weightlifting coaches. In addition to being your weightlifing coach, Randy spends many weekends teaching USA Weightlifting coaching courses. He'll be doing an advanced course this weekend at the gym. So that means there will be no 10:30 class this weekend, and weightlifting club practice will be 11:30-12:30 during the lunch break for the course.

We'll also need about 8 folks to participate in a mock meet at 10:15-11:45 on Sunday to help the new coaches learn how a sanctioned meet works. Sign up on the board in the gym, we'd love to have your help. It's also a good way for someone who has never participated in a USAW meet to see how it all works - it will help calm your nerves if you know what to expect. There's no need to be a good or experienced lifter - anyone can participate.


We are sorry for the short notice, but USAW made the class official just yesterday. We try to announce things here on the blog and on Facebook, but I don't know how many people really check this stuff. If you want to be automatically notified if the schedule changes, you can always sign up for a class before you come - note the link at the bottom of the post will take you to our schedule. You're not obligated to come to a class if you sign up, but if you're signed up you'll get a notice if something changes (like say the 50 inches of snow we might get), and it makes it easier to check you in since you'll already be signed up.  I encourage everyone to get in the habit of signing in.  I have the link just below the workout, so if you check the blog in the morning and then decide to come to class, just sign up!
