The days are growing darker

Lauren lapping everyone on the carries yesterday.
Boo for the lack of sunlight. I'm not a fan of the short days. Plus I get cheated out of an hour of my birthday this year when we go back to standard time. There are lots of good things that happen to your body when you get sunlight - the most commonly known one is the catalysis of Vitamin-D by the UV exposure. Without the sun you may notice that you're feeling down or sad or tired. You may not recover from a workout as quickly. You may have trouble gaining strength as fast as you did in the summer. Pay attention to your body, if you need to take it easier, do so! Don't let your ego get you hurt or sick.

Make sure you're still coming into the gym (unless you're sick - then get your rest!), but be smart about your workouts - reduce the weight or intensity if you're not feeling 100%. This time of the year our goal is to just not lose everything we gained during the summer (and also not get hurt and ruin ski season).
