Endurance athletes need strength

I'm on record (here, here, and here) about the importance of strength training for endurance athletes (and masters athletes). I even do extra work everyday to modify the normal daily workout to help focus it better for endurance athletes. No one seems to believe me. So, here's an article (Want To Race Endurance? Better Hit The Gym) written by an endurance coach about this. His definition of strength training is a bit weak, but I'm happy to do anything I can to promote the need for endurance athletes to be strong.

Our endurance program includes a strength movement every day plus a lower intensity second workout. It is perfect for complementing your sports-specific conditioning work.
