The first work out of the new year


Yes, we ended last year with deadlifts and we start this year with deadlifts.  There's nothing magical about it. Rather than using a fixed epoch for my programming cycles, I use the day-number in the year so we get discontinuities in the new year. But I figure it's a sign from the strength gods that deadlift came up again.  If you maxed out on Friday, take it easy today.



Workout

deadlift 8-3-3x5
2 pull-ups between sets

then

3 rounds for sense of urgency
7 push press
1½ lap farmers walk
½ lap OHWPL



Endurance Option

deadlifts
2 pull-ups between sets

then

3 rounds below AeroMAX
7 push press
1½ lap farmers walk
½ lap OHWPL
