Dr. Jason Fung, a low-carb, anti-sugar, weight loss doctor wrote this great piece on Medium about the reasons why the heart-healthy vegetable oils have become the official recommendation of our military-industrial-food-health-complex. 

In typical Orwellian nature, if government says something is good for you, the reason is that it's probably toxic waste that it too expensive to get rid of. This article is about vegetable oils, but the same goes for fluoride in water.
